Bike Bicycle Crank Wrench Removal Puller Tool Handle

This crank puller for square taper cranks is about 1/3 the cost of a Park Tool CCP-22 version (which I also own and use). Gotta wonder -- will it hold up?

To my surprise, this inexpensive tool worked well. Throw away the stupid tin wrench that comes with the puller and grab a 5/8" box-end wrench instead.

One end of the puller has a socket to remove the crank nut. Flip the puller over and screw the spindle into the crank. Don't torque it too tight. Then switch the 5/8" wrench to the inner rod and thread it in. Again, don't tighten it too hard. Tap the crank a few times with the end of the box end wrench, then tighten the rod.

At this price, I'd have been happy if the tool had lasted long enough to do one bike, but it looks like it is sturdy enough for at least a few more.

No, it's not as tough a tool as the CCP-22 but in a way it's handier. With the Park Tool version I need a socket set to remove the crank nut. With the Suntek version, everything is there in one tool.

Suntek should throw away the flimsy tin wrench and sell just the tool for a slightly lower price.
